How We Help

When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my lambs.” A second time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Tend my sheep.” He said to him the third time, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter felt hurt because he said to him the third time, “Do you love me?” And he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep.” –John 21:15-17–

We are committed to keeping you and your family safe during this pandemic. Click below to read our guidelines for participating in the programs of the Don Bosco Center.

The Don Bosco Center is, above all, a Christian organization and an outreach ministry of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lexington, Ky. As such, we recognize as one of our highest callings to care for people, especially families. Below are some of the programs we use to do that.

The Academic Enrichment Program

Education is one of the most important aspects of a young person’s life. The quality of one’s education can have a lifelong impact on everything from career, relationships, and even self-worth. For that reason, the Don Bosco Center’s Academic Enrichment Program seeks to help young people meet their full academic potential, knowing how important this investment is in the life of a family. We fully believe that increasing academic potential can advance young people towards embracing their beloved identity, engaging in community, and strengthening their own family unit. We seek to empower the young people of this community and help them to develop the tools they need to become the men and women they were meant to be.

The Basics
  • Structured, evidence based programming administered by qualified staff
  • Summer and Afterschool programs offered, grades 6-8
  • Utilizes programs designed by BellXcel proven to help students’ increase reading and math performance
  • Tuition assistance available

The Summer Community Library

The Covid-19 pandemic has put a stop to a lot of the resources we’ve come to rely on for serving the children and families of this community. This disruption to normal life has been hard for a lot of reasons, but one of the most difficult changes has been the loss of those programs that engage young minds and stimulate curiosity. Therefore, The Don Bosco Center will do what it can to provide resources to families throughout this difficult time through the creation of a Summer Community Library.

The Basics
  • wide selection of books for children and youth that are free to borrow
  • Weekly enrichment kits for further learning at home
  • Utilizes programs designed by BellXcel proven to help students’ increase reading and math performance

We are always looking for new ways to serve the children and families of Lawrenceburg. If you have an idea for a program that would be helpful to you and families like yours, please don’t hesitate to contact us and let us know!
